HUMOR CLUB CONTEST WINNER
July 2001 Winner - Congrats to Darlene Turgeon of Edmonton, AB The longer I live, the more often I realize the importance of attitude on life. Attitude to me is more important then facts. It is more important then the past, than circumstances, than failures, than successes, than what other people think or say or do. It is more important than appearance, giftedness or skill. It will make or break a company, a church, and a home. The remarkable thing is - we have a choice everyday regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day. We cannot change our past... we cannot change that fact that people will act a certain way. We cannot change the inevitable. The only thing we can do is play on the one string we have, and that is our attitude! ATTITUDE is the first Chapter in the Humor for your Health Guidebook.
My name is Nicole Mikkelson. I have three children the oldest is 6, the youngest is 19 months and my son is a four year old with ADHD, that within itself needs humor! I was diagnosed with severe depression several years ago and started taking meds. Last year I was reading an article and I nearly died laughing I swear. It was then that I felt better than I had in many, many years. I now use humor as my daily medication and it helps. My kids can drive me batty and the depression can bring you down, but laughing helps!! LAUGHTER is the Fourth Chapter in the Humor for your Health Guidebook.
A HUMOR STYLE 'THANK YOU' TO OUR NEW CLIENTS
OUR VIEW
Our view this month is the Third Chapter of the Humor for your Health Guidebook entitled Being in Balance.
What does balance mean to you? The definition of Balance is 'a form of scale; equilibrium; a state of steadiness.'
The chapter focuses on the Balance between Body, Mind and Soul and how humor plays an important part in that connection. This chapter is full of some great information on why balance is important to have. One example of that is: keeping balance stimulates and boosts your immune system.
What I love the most about this Chapter is the Experience at the end. It asks you to describe the true nature of your own Body, Mind and Soul. If you don't like what you discover, you can choose to use your sense of humor to help give you a new, lighter perspective. This is a great chapter to realign and rebalance yourself.
We have added this section as a means of keeping it REAL with HUMOR! In this section we will advise you on the benefits of PLAY and some ways to PLAY! We welcome your input on the ways you PLAY at info@humorforyourhealth.com
BENEFIT – Play works through unresolved problems releasing negative energy.
ONE SUGGESTION ON HOW TO PLAY – Instead of staying in negative energy or a rut- go out and do something you consider playful. It changes your atmosphere hereby changing the outlook on your situation.
We are pleased to say that CATH'S Mission statement, logo and first Canadian Conference is unfolding right on schedule! Any information you request or if you would like to become a member please email us at info@humorforyourhealth.com.
We invite you to do your own Humor Evaluation at www.humorforyourhealth.com/humor_articles.html. Find the Sense of Humor Evaluation to give you a view of Humor.
Every month we will share a Humor Skill. They are posted under the 'Skills' Chapter in the Humor for your Health Guidebook with further explanation.
#10. Check your attitude.
In this section we will offer different joke styles. This month we focus on Thought Provoking One Liners. Here are some examples:
Why isn't phonetic spelled the way it sounds?
If nothing ever sticks to Teflon, how do they make Teflon stick to the pan?
Why isn't there mouse flavored cat food?
