NEWS and CONTEST
October 2001
"Humor, like hope allows one to acknowledge and endure what is otherwise unendurable."
Gail Sheehy
THE HUMOR FOR YOUR HEALTH OFFICE MESSAGE
Welcome Back.
We at the Humor for your Health Office send our love out to everyone affected by the September 11, 2001 devastation.
We know there is nothing funny about what happened, what we do know is that humor will play a big part in the healing process. Every occurrence we go through in life defines and measures our growth. Humor for your Health is here to help in whatever way we can.
We will donate 5% of all our earnings from September -December 2001 to the United Way to help support the well being and recovery efforts.
On another note, we have changed over our servers and were without email from September 25-30TH. If there were any emails sent to us please resend them.
Please enjoy your month and keep peace, love and humor close to your hearts.

HUMOR CLUB CONTEST WINNER
Thank you to F. PENGARD from Nova Scotia, Canada
I had to email to share a bit of peace I feel now that I read a part in your Guidebook in the Surviving Chapter. Instead of just reading it, I got it. I never thought that humor and death really had any relation. Here is what I read:
'The greatest tribute to one who has passed on is that the sound of their name and the crackling of a smile are one and the same.'
Thank you for those words as I have shifted ever so slightly from feeling the lost, to celebrating this person. I am starting to remember the good times we had and keeping that as my focus.
I also want to send love out to those that lost loved ones on September 11th. It is my hope that they will celebrate the time they had with the ones that are no longer with them.
A HUMOR STYLE 'THANK YOU' TO OUR NEW CLIENTS
OUR VIEW
Our view this month is the Tenth Chapter of the Humor for your Health Guidebook entitled Surviving. (We will view it at greater length next month.)
The chapter focuses on life's journey of offering you four major challenges for your sense of humor: loss, illness, death and grief.
What I love most about this Chapter is it gives you a different perception on these subjects knowing that every person deals with them in their own way and time.
We have added this section as a means of keeping it REAL with HUMOR! In this section we will advise you on the benefits of PLAY and some ways to PLAY! We welcome your input on the ways you PLAY at info@humorforyourhealth.com.
BENEFIT – Play is not goal-oriented and tends to level the field.
ONE SUGGESTION ON HOW TO PLAY – True play is not about who wins but it is about the enjoyment of the activity. Example: An adult getting down on their knees and playing with a child.
We are pleased to say that CATH'S Mission statement, logo and first Canadian Conference is unfolding right on schedule! Any information you request or if you would like to become a member please email us at info@humorforyourhealth.com.
We invite you to do your own Humor Evaluation at www.humorforyourhealth.com/humor_articles.html. Find the Sense of Humor Evaluation to give you a view of Humor.
Every month we will share a Humor Skill. They are posted under the 'Skills' Chapter in the Humor for your Health Guidebook with further explanation.
#10. Check your attitude.
In this section we will offer different joke styles. This month we again focus on Thought Provoking One Liners. Here are some more examples:
Where do the Forest Rangers go to get away from it all?
